To address a critical housing shortage, the City of New Ulm has approved a wave of innovative and experimental housing developments.
The greenlit projects feature alternative housing types including over a dozen ‘tiny’ homes and a 22 unit development of metal sided ‘shed houses’ that combine living space with large storage quarters.
By embracing these unique designs rather than restricting development, city leaders are working with groups like NUBRIC to actively clear paths for diverse and affordable housing options.
